This tall vase, which reminisces the elegant egret, was handcrafted by artisans in Southeast Asia who specialize in the craft of spun bamboo. Long strips of bamboo are curved around a frame to create the shape for these tall floor vases, which are then carefully sanded into a smooth curved shape.
Next, genuine silver leaf in small square sheets is applied to the entire surface of the vase. Lastly, the vase is coated with layers of lacquer for a protective finish. It is the silver leaf that gives the lacquered vase its deep rich luster, and delicate textured look. Available now in natural silver leaf.
