This large plate is entirely hand crafted by artisans who cut bamboo into thin strips, then curve them layer by layer into the round shape. The piece is then carefully sanded to a smooth surface, over which several layers of black lacquer are applied. Next, hand picked shards of Mother of Pearl are inset to form a concentric open circle symolizing the every flowing energy of life. Following this process, many layers of clear lacquer are applied as a protective finish. Makes a stunning accent piece for any room.
Plate measures 18" in diameter, and o mes with an 18" tall display stand. This plate can also hang on a wall (wall hanging fastners not included).
